O portal web da radio Vaticano relata em um texto de 21 de julho de 2007, que o Papa Bento XVI, em Lorenzago di Cadore onde permanece até 27 de julho, permaneceu uma hora em oração em frente a uma imagem de Nossa Senhora de Medjugorje. Radio Vaticano disse que foi um momento penetrante.

O papa foi para a pequena capela na floresta e rezou em frente a imagem. Uma história interessante é ligada a esta imagem: ela foi comprada na década de 80 e foi roubada. Após algum tempo, o ladrão a trouxe de volta para a pequena capela. O Papa Bento XVI rezou o rosário e lá permaneceu por uma hora", disse o jornalista da rádio Vaticano.
